My Journey…
I began playing the piano at the age of four in rural PA. I took lessons all the way through high school, and then off I headed for a Bachelor of Arts and later a Master of Music in Performance.
Looking back it was those early years that made the difference. I kept showing up and tackling the next piece.
My understanding and experience grew and it provided the foundation for my later studies. I think a lot of that comes back to my teachers and the faith and support they showed me. My journey hasn’t always been easy, and it continues to this day- through my own teaching, composing, recordings, and performances.
‘…then from his broken stance he leapt astride, and sat lithe and straight and strong in the sun’s unshadowed excellence.’
— Wendell Berry
